Microsoft Teams mobile apps - degraded page browsing experience with Valo Connect

Last Updated on 2021-07-30 01:49:15 UTC

Summary

(2021-01-27) We have been tracking an issue relating to the use of Valo Connect on mobile devices via the Microsoft Teams mobile app. The issue prevents users from being able to follow (click) links present on a SharePoint page that point to other SharePoint pages. While the issue doesn't affect all links, our testing indicates that links such as news articles hosted in a Valo Intranet site, are affected.

The issue was first observed to be specific to the Microsoft Teams mobile app for Google Android. It has since become apparent the same issue applies to the Microsoft Teams mobile app for Apple iOS.

Valo has reported the issue to Microsoft, with further investigation pending to determine the underlying cause. Valo is also investigating changes we may apply, via Valo delivered capability, to work-around the underlying cause, and return the mobile experience to customer expectations.

The same issue affects the use of the Teamwork and Ideas UI, when presented via Valo Connect. The issue does not affect the Teamwork app, or Valo Ideas, when the user browses to either app directly from the Teams navigation bar.

(2021-02-01) A hot fix has been deployed providing a partial work-around for the Teams mobile app for Android. Investigate continues to provide a viable work-around for the iOS Teams app.

(2021-02-05) Monitoring of the work-around hotfix deployment continues.

(2021-02-23) A further hotfix has been deployed providing a partial work-around for the Teams mobile app for iOS. Monitoring of the work-around hotfix continues.

(2021-07-30) Another hotfix has been released, applying a partial work-around specifically targeting the Teams app for iPadOS. Monitoring of the work-arounds Valo continues.
